Evangelism & Outreach/Mission

Vision – Providing events, missions and outreach to identify, and nurture the God given talents in people through recognition, encouragements, supports and assistance.

This is part of our mission to alleviate poverty by providing opportunity and platform for the less privileged talented people

The team shall interpret sharing the love of God in the community, province, nationally and internationally by developing missions and outreach that will touch lives of people positively. We believe all talents are from God and this committee shall through events, missions and outreach, identify talented people especially youths and young persons, nurture, direct and assist them in achieving their potential.

These shall include but not limited to:

  •  Feeding and supporting the poor
  • Campaign against crime
  • Campaign for justice, assistance, care and support for the bereaved, prisoners, victims of crime, homeless people, and destitute.

Sharing the love of God initiative has many projects and missions designed to foster love among people through participation and witnessing.

Some of the projects are:

1. Christmas Toy and Gift Drive

Vision – We demonstrate the Love of Jesus to the poor by giving to the less privileged by bringing Christmas joy to kids and families in need of some assistance.

Every year in December, we reach out to the community through our “Christmas Toy and Gift” to collect cash and in-kind donations to make a difference, by supporting Shelter for Abused women and children, Low-income families in the community by putting a smile on the faces.

Over the years, we have blessed different women’s shelters in the Region of Peel (Brampton and Mississauga) at Christmas time with Gift cards, Toys, Non-Perishable food items and much more and the mission keeps growing bigger every year.

If you would like to donate toys, gift cards, cash, nonperishable food items, please contact our office at 905.629.9999 or send an email to info@godwaysministry.ca.

If you know an abused women and children shelter in the area that needs support at Christmas time, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The purpose of this event is to provide a time for people, friends and family to come together as a family of God. It is also a time to family bonding – as a church and as individual families. Some Christians can see it as a special dinnertime with God. It is a strong networking event and a get to know your place. It is aimed to create friend and or family bonding, create community cohesion, recreation, education, a time of rest and reflection, as well as a time of celebrating life.

4. Refocusing Destiny Through God

Vision – GIM will engage society in the degree of marginalization and stereotyping of people who have been on the wrong side of the law. We will look at both sides, Law and Society.

The purpose of this initiative is to help people who have been on the wrong side of the law and require a turnaround and people who have been through challenges that have incapacitated them. It is our goal to motivate these people through activities and share stories of other people that might resonate with them, to find hope. Ultimately, we want to be able to give them a new start in life. Bring them into God’s gang recognizing the love of God in their life, give them the understanding that the past is past and only interested in the future and bring out the best in them.

To make an impact, GIM will investigate the following areas:

To avoid derailment, reoffending and remove barriers with rejoining the community.

  • Visits to prison, halfway houses and remand centres to create a bond/link
  • Temporary accommodation for destitute, halfway house
  • Charity status to raise funds for them
  • Evangelization
  • Service Support partnerships – employment, counselling, accommodation, skills development, financial assistance
