Youth/Young Adults – Rekindle
The goal of Rekindle is to help individuals learn the word of God and understand, build friendships with one another within the youth group, so by hosting events we hope that friendships can be formed.
The group also works on how to communicate their opinions or issues they have with Christianity.
Themes are chosen and discussed such as:
Faith in a Secular World: In this event the discussion is basically about how the youth and young adult Christians can have faith in God through all the hardships or failures they may go through. Participants are allowed to give their opinions on the topic which gives room to discuss the topic further.
Why does God test people? During this event a short video related to the topic was watched and discussed how God is testing us in our lives, and how we know if a test we may go through is a genuine test or a trap. Participants speak freely about the things they struggle to sacrifice as young Christians, and how they can put God first in their lives. Participants share prayer requests they had, and all the requests were prayed for. Bonding events are also created when sharing about different types of TV shows they watched and liked.
Other topics include Materialism, Comfort, Joy, and what is written in your heart.
All events are sermons, however, individuals ask questions and read bible verses, and there is room for discussion.
Rekindle also plan games nights and other outdoor events where they can build long lasting friendships.
