Seniors Community Event -Technology Training and Inclusion for Seniors

The community needs organizations that will promote digital literacy activities that lead to positive moods in our seniors as these moods lead to better health outcomes.
As people age, different types of support is needed especially in the areas of technology and intergeneration relationships.
This will promote a sense of purpose and a support network for the seniors.
As we encourage our seniors to participate in these activities, it will also give opportunity for continuous learning.

“Bring and Share” – Food of Black Origin (FOBO)

Our Food of Black Origin (FOBO) initiative is born from Black communities demands that stem from in-house food events we had over the years called “Bring and Share.”
We realised the unifying nature of food, the richness of FOBO and the economic potentials if projected.
Many big hotels and event venues need to be encouraged to have FOBO in their menu. Some hall operatives would not allow FOBO and would not include it in their menu event when Black community has event at the venue.
We created FOBO project to engage the issues, celebrate and showcase FOBO on a wider scale. We have experience of engaging volunteer elders to introduce FOBO to youths. We aim to create a media content of FOBO while involving participants.

FOBO initiative will increase awareness and participation of Black chefs and culinary experts in restaurants and food sector including supporting and recognizing their expertise, creativity, and unique contributions to the culinary world.
We aim to achieve Black cultural authenticity by highlighting authentic recipes rooted in Black culinary traditions. This involves promoting the understanding and respecting of the diverse range of cuisines that exist within the broader category of “Food of Black Origin.”
We encourage culinary education and awareness programs that focus on Black culinary traditions, history, and techniques through “Black Youths Cooking with the Elders”, hosting events and celebrating FOBO with the wider community.
This fosters a sense of community, highlights and transfers the diversity of talent within the Black community. This helps preserve and promote the rich heritage of Black cuisine.
